Red Door Gallery

The building that is the Red Door Art Gallery was built in 1915 by National Bank. The bank occupied the building until approximately 1955. After that various businesses were housed in the building until 1993. The building sat vacant 16 years. Through the vision and hard work of dedicated art lovers, the building has been transformed into the beautiful art gallery that it is today. The gallery renovations are nearly completed. The doors were officially open to the public on a limited basis on Memorial Day weekend, 2011, as we became the representatives for the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) for weekends throughout the summer. Two Three Rivers Arts Council members were hired to represent the CVB to give directions and hand out tourist information. This allowed the gallery to be open to the public for showing, even though we were still under renovation. A limited supply of art for sale was hung on the gallery walls and the gallery was officially “open for business!”

A Christmas Open House was held on December 3rd and the art gallery was declared “officially open,” showcasing over a dozen artists in both our main gallery and our newly opened gift shop. The dedication and Grand Opening was held on the weekend of March 24th & 25th with Barb Benda Nagle as our featured artist.

Our hours of operation are Fridays from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Sundays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. If you would like information on placing art in the gallery for either sale or show please contact us at gallerymanager@reddoorgallerywahpeton.com or call our gallery manager at 701-591-1010.
